AMOCON is the sole risk basis operator of the OML156 in the Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. “Sole Risk basis” means that the company conducts and funds all petroleum operations performed on the block. Hydrocarbons produced shall be independently owned and marketed by AMOCON.

It is situated at the eastern fringe of the current Niger Delta license acreage close to the border with Cameroon and lies at the mouth of the Cross River.

The block covers an area of 522 sq. km and is covered by river mouth, swamps and dry land. OML156 lies about 150 km east of Port Harcourt and the major town of Calabar, just outside the block’s northeast boundary.

OML-156 is covered by proven & producing blocks such as OML-13, OML-67 & OML-68, OML-114 and other marginal fields in OML-13.
